光电工程研究所的前身是浙江大学光学与光电子薄膜研究所。光学与光电子薄膜作为光学系统中的一个重要组成部分,在现代光电信息技术中发挥着日益重要的作用,尤其是在光通信、光电显示、光存贮、影像仪器中,光学薄膜已成为关键技术之一。本研究所是国内最早开始光学薄膜研究的研究所之一,历经几十年的研究发展,几代人的努力,在光学与光电子薄膜设计理论、薄膜制备技术、检测技术等方面都有系统而深入的研究,取得了大批国家级的研究成果。在此基础上,研究所近年来开展了微纳米功能器件、光电显示技术与光电成像方面的研究,特别是对投影显示的研究取得了卓有成效的进展。获国家自然科学奖、国家科技进步奖、发明奖各一项,省部级科技进步奖十余项。培养的硕士、博士研究生遍布世界各地,是国际上知名的光学薄膜研究与人才培养基地。
目前,研究所主要从事:微纳光电器件,光电显示与光电成像三个方面你的研究。研究所有教职工11名,其中长江特聘教授1名,教授4名,青年千人1名,副教授3名,实验员2名。拥有1.3米高真空电子束镀膜设备、MBE设备、双离子束溅射薄膜制备设备、日本岛津光谱仪、Olympus反射率光谱仪,Nikon显微镜等研究设备与手段。
主要研究方向:
1. 高精度复杂膜系的光学薄膜以及极端光学特性的设计、制备与检测技术
2. 微纳光电功能薄膜与器件,微结构型光学薄膜器件与技术
3. 光电显示技术:人机界面技术、三维光场显示技术,头戴式显示技术及特种显示技术
4. 非成像光学:自由曲面光学设计与制备,自由曲面照明
5. 成像光学:超分辨成像,光谱成像以及计算成像
6. 环境与生物光电功能检测与成像技术

The Institute of Photonics Engineering
The Institute of Photonics Engineering is originated from optical thin films group of Zhejiang University in 1960’s. Optical thin film coatings and optoelectronic thin film devices as a important part of the modern optical system, and play much more important role in the current IT techniques, especially in the optical communication, optoelectronic display, optical storage, and modern imaging. The former thin film institute is one of the earliest research institution in the filed of optical thin films technology in china, there are several generation teachers and researchers worked in the field of optical thin film design, optical coatings production technique and thin film precision detection, and there are more than hundred of postgraduate students (MD and PhD)and researchers graduated from the institute and worked all over the world in this field.
Currently, the institute is not only focusing on the fields of optical thin film devices and functional thin film devices and technique, but also develop the new research fields in 3D spatial display, projection display, LED display techniques. We also have explore the precision detection and optical new imaging techniques, including super-resolution microscopy, computation imaging, and bio-optical detection and imaging to meet the needs of current environment monitoring and the requirement of biology science and technology.
The institute has 5 full professors, among them 1 Yangtze river program professor, and 1 Thousand talents Yong Scientist, and has 3 associate professors and 2 technicians and 2 post doctors. Equipped with: 1.3m E-beam coating machine, MBE thin film growing equipment, IBS coator, ALD coating machine, Olympus reflectormeter and UV 3600 spectrometer, Nikon microscope and fs laser system etc.

The main research fields:
1. Optical thin films coatings and coating deposition and extreme properties measurement
2. Micron or Nano functional thin film or hybrid devices and nanostructure thin film devices
3. Non-imaging optics and free-form illumination
4. Imaging optics; Optical super-resolution imaging and computation imaging
5. Display techniques: 3D light field display and 3D interaction techniques, Projection display: compact helmet display and special display system
6. Environmental monitoring and bioscience detection and imaging.
